3RD SEASON:

45.  ALOHA, YOU'RE DEAD   2 hour                           11/5/80
 
A car pulls up beside Dan during an early morning jog and, to his surprise, a beautiful blonde orders him into the vehicle at gunpoint.  He is taken to a warehouse, drugged, blindfolded, and stuffed into a crate.  The crate is taken to the airport and put aboard a Honolulu-bound plane.  Binzer and Bea know something is wrong when they receive a note from Dan obviously written under duress.  At Honolulu, the crate is taken aboard a van and from the van by power launch to an island.  A luau is going on when Dan is permitted to emerge from the box-he finds himself being stared at by five men, one of which is Emil Remick head of the Commission, an international Mafia gang.  Dan learns that from this place (Mamala Island), the gang wants him to kill a man, Phillip Roth, whose casino building will impair their business.  He pretends to agree to do it.  On their way to Roth's yacht, Dan escapes, jumping overboard.  He swims to the Oahu coast and, with the help of a pretty Hawaiian girl, Lani, gets to a phone where he is able to call the Honolulu police and then Binzer and Bea.  Binzer is to get his wallet to him immediately.  The police car arrives-Dan gets in and the police turn out to be Remik's henchmen.  He is taken back to the plantation.  Lani is waiting and Dan realizes that she is one of them.  Upstairs in the plantation house Dan gets away again, jumping through a window and disappearing into the sugar cane fields.  He meets Father Logan who offers to hide Dan in his church-again, Logan is part of the gang.  Dan is returned and this time put into a torture chamber and brainwashed into thinking Roth is indeed his enemy.  Once the Commission thinks Dan is ready to kill Roth, they go back to the yacht.  Dan discovers that Roth has been replaced by a look-alike.  He stages a phony shooting with the double, then escapes a third time and gets ashore.  There, he is met by Federal agents and is taken in for carrying a concealed weapon and suspicion of criminal conspiracy.  A Roth financial adviser/turncoat lets the Commission know that Roth is not dead-that Dan tricked them.

46.  BLACK CAT KILLER                                      11/12/80
 
Bea is shot and seriously wounded in her house by an intruder.  Dan ties the incident to the Black Cat Killer who has already murdered three other people.  Jenny Stallings, a free lance writer, asks Dan to let her join in the investigation.  Dan soon learns that Bea and the three murder victims have one thing in common - all had recently vacationed in Acapulco and, in fact, all three had appeared in one snapshot taken in front of a church.  He learns that in the background of the picture, Augie Brenner, a former union lord, who had faked his own murder, appears alive and well after all.  The forth member of the group, Mickey Enright, is learned to be hiding out in a motel for his safety.  Dan locates him and finds that Enright has the snapshot negative.  Dan soon suspects Jenny as the Black Cat Killer because she appears to know things that only the killer would know.  Later, Dan learns that Augie Brenner has hired her to find that negative and in her search, she has killed all the witnesses in the snapshot except for Bea and Mickey.  Jenny is captured and Bea is on the road to recovery.

47.  SUDDEN DEATH                                          11/19/80
 
Dan drops date Cathy Reed of after an evening on the town, where she unexpectedly surprises a cat burglar in her apartment.  Dan hears her screams.  The burglar pulls a gun - Dan Shoots and discovers he has killed the man.  The burglar's gun turns out to be only a BB gun.  Dan, upset that he has killed an unarmed man, starts an investigation of the man's life, and finds that he was Pat Klien, who worked one of the Baccarat tables.  Klein, who lived in a modest apartment and drove an old car, is found to have $25,000 in diamonds in his car which is parked near Cathy's apartment.  They also find that he has another luxurious apartment and an expensive car and bank account with large deposits and withdrawals.  So they know he is splitting the money with someone.  The someone turns out to be Edward St. John, the Assistant District Attorney, and his mistress, Mavis Graham.  They also find that all the robbery victims have been women Baccarat players.  When Mavis finds that St. John has hired someone to kill Dan, she tries to get away.  He catches her and attempts to do away with her.  Binzer, who has followed Mavis for Dan, observes all this and Dan arrives in time to apprehend the Assistant D.A..

48.  LOVE AFFAIR                                           11/26/80
 
Marsha White, a high priced call girl, enters her apartment and dials Dan's number, leaving a message with on his answering machine service that a friend suggested she call him for help.  Phil King, investment banker type, head of a call girl service, arrives at Marsha's apartment and kill her because she tried to blackmail one of his customers.  Meanwhile, Dan has fallen in love with Pam, posing a college student but really one of Phil King's high-priced call girls known as Satin.  Pam is the favorite of a wealthy oil man, Frederick Barr.  Bea finds out about Pam.  She almost tells Dan but stops before doing so.  After Marsha's body has been found, Dan pinpoints former call girl Gloria Garland as the one who told Marsha to call Dan.  Gloria tells Dan that King is the head of the call girl service.  Dan runs into Pam, with her client, Frederick Barr.  She admits that she is a call girl and has been working to pay for her education and save for her future but tells Dan she really has fallen for him and she is going to quit.  In the meantime, Frederick Barr has offered $100,000 for one more night with Pam.  King tells her she can't quit yet.  She protests and he kills her.  Dan gets to King's bodyguard who admits that King was responsible for both murders.  Dan tracks him down, finds him, and the police arrive just in time to take King into custody.  Bea and Binzer help Dan pack for a fishing trip to be by himself to try to get over the shock of Pam's death.

49.  A DEADLY VICTIM                                         12/3/80
 
Wright, a paid assassin hired to kill a witness scheduled to testify against a Las Vegas underworld figure, misses because two winos, Charlie Wade and Laurie Bishop, distract him.  Wright hits Charlie over the head with his rifle and knocks Laurie down.  Charlie dies from the blow.  Laurie calls Dan in to track down Charlie's killer.  Dan recognizes Laurie as a former defense attorney who became an alcoholic after blaming herself when a client she defended for murder went free and killed the witnesses.  Dan takes Laurie to his place.  He and Bea sober her up.  Wright wants to kill Laurie because he thinks she can identify him.  Wright manages to get Laurie out of Dan's pad and attempts to run her down with his car.  Dan arrives to prevent the hit and run and gives chase.  Wright gets away.  Two federal agents assigned to protect the witness confront Dan and tell him to stop investigating in matters that don't concern him.  Dan, of course, continues.  They go to Dan's pad while Bea and Binzer are with Laurie.  They convince Binzer and Bea that they are legitimate and take Laurie into their custody.  Wright follows the federal agents to the Wimbledon Towers at the Desert Inn.  Dan finds out from Lt. Nelson where they took Laurie.  Dan arrives to avert Wright from shooting Laurie.  A gun battle ensues.  Wright ends up in the Desert Inn pool and is taken into custody.  Laurie makes her first step back into society thanks to Dan.

50.  DEADLY BLESSINGS                                      12/10/80
 
Dan awakens with a terrible hangover and a strange beautiful girl in bed with him.  He discovers the girl's name is Rocket and he met her at Roth's party the previous evening.  At that moment Dan's doorbell rings and he finds Sister Bridget Callahan who is asking for his assistance in locating the property willed to her by an old man in New Mexico to whom she had once been kind to.  They discover that the property is the land on which the Desert Inn stands.  Much to Roth's consternation, Sister Bridget is determined that the Desert Inn become a nunnery and she decides the only thing lacking is a chapel which she will build on the south parking lot.  When Zoning Commissioner Marvin Grant hears this, he and his associate, Ben Coleman, decide to kill the Sister.  Ben misses in his first attempt.  Dan investigates and finds that twenty years before, when the Desert Inn was renovated, Marvin and Ben had killed three men and buried them in the south parking lot.  They don't want it dug up.  Marvin and Ben try to get rid of Sister Bridget and Dan, but Dan manages to get the gun away from them and Sister Bridget and Dan subdue them.  Roth agrees to build a number of missions for Sister Bridget in exchange for the deed to the Desert Inn property.  Dan goes off to another date with Rocket.

51.  CHRISTMAS STORY                                         12/17/80
 
Dan and his girlfriend Rocket are spending the Christmas holiday at a ski resort.  They are drinking champagne by the fireplace when the doorbell rings.  Dan opens the door to find nine and a half year old Marki Drummond, who announces that Dan is her father.  She has been sent to spend the holiday with Dan by her mother, Kay Drummond.  Dan is stunned by this announcement.  He remembers having an affair with Kay about ten years ago.  She was a champion skier and now is a skiing instructor.  Marki gives Dan a package from her mother which he is not supposed to open until Christmas.  Dan and Rocket open the package anyway finding a note telling Dan that Marki will have a good home and that she is committing suicide.  Dan first goes to Kay's apartment and finds old scrapbooks containing pictures and clippings of himself and some with Kay.  Dan then goes to her ski school locker and finds a copy of Marki's birth certificate listing him as Marki's father.  Dan locates Kay's psychiatrist, who reveals that Kay has been torn between her career as a champion skier and motherhood.  Lt. Nelson finds the real birth certificate indicating that Dan is not Marki's father.  Dan locates Kay as she is about to ski jump from Devil's Drop and saves her life.  She is then reunited with Marki.

52.  THE ANDREAS ADDICTION                                 1/7/81
 
Nickie Andreas, a former drug user Dan helped commit to an institution some years before, plots his revenge.  First he gets into Dan's pad and puts PCP into his health drink.  Then Andreas slips the drug into Dan's drink at a party.  Dan reacts and in a daze, crashes his car.  Nickie has followed along and posing as a police officer, "arrests" Dan, taking him to an abandoned casino where he chains him to a table and starts injecting Dan with heroin.  The after Dan is hooked, he takes it away.  Dan hallucinates and then goes through terrible withdrawal pains.  Bea and Binzer get concerned about Dan's disappearance.  They start investigating and remember that Dan started acting strange after drinking his health drink.  Lt. Nelson has the drink analyzed and the PCP is discovered.  Convinced Dan is not a drug user and is in trouble, Lt. Nelson gets a composite drawing of the man who made the arrest after Dan's accident.  Andreas is identified.  Bea and Binzer trace him to the abandoned casino where Dan is being held.  In the meantime, Dan frees himself from the chains in a feat of strength and rage.  He captures Nickie just as Bea, Binzer, and Lt. Nelson bust in. Bea and Binzer take Dan to the hospital where he is cured of his addiction.

53.  SOURDOUGH SUITE                                       1/14/81
 
A weather-beaten prospector, Josiah Sparks, with his burro Juliet, watches from a desert ridge as a chauffeured limo arrives with Grayson, a lawyer.  At the same time , a helicopter piloted by George Willis arrives with Treadwell, a tax accountant.  Briefcases are exchanged between Grayson and Treadwell.  Then each pulls out a gun and fires, leaving the chauffeur, Grayson and Treadwell dead.  Willis takes off in the helicopter.  Josiah opens the briefcases and finds a great deal of money in one and papers in the other.  He apologizes to the corpses for not giving them a proper burial, says a small prayer, then takes off with the briefcases.  Pilot George Willis contacts his old friend Dan Tanna and tells him what had happened.  Dan goes to the scene of the murders and finds a money clip.  The clip is traced to heroin-hashish dealer Maximillian Metzger whom Treadwell worked for.  Dan runs into Josiah Sparks at the Desert Inn spending money fast and furiously.  It turns out that Josiah had at one time saved Dan's life.  Maximillian's two henchman, Donny and Luis, also observe Sparks spending money.  They become suspicious and try to force him to tell them where the briefcases are hidden.  Josiah leads them to a remote horse barn on the outskirts of town.  Dan arrives in time to aid Sparks by fighting them off in a gun battle.  Lt. Nelson arrives on the scene to take Maximillian and his henchmen into custody.  Nelson finds that the papers have all the contacts for Maximillian's drug business and some of the money is missing.  Spark's convinces them that there wasn't as much money as they had thought in the first place, so Nelson lets him go.  Sparks takes off with his burro, but Dan sees a $100 bill fall out of the burro's pack.  Dan smiles as he realizes that wily old Sparks has tricked them all, and has taken off with the remaining money.

54.  MURDER BY MIRRORS                                     1/21/81
 
While soloing in a small airplane, Bea sees a man being shot near the pool of a luxurious house below.  A stunned Bea lands the aircraft and tells Dan what she had seen.  Even though they are apprehensive, Dan, Lt. Nelson, and several police go to the house of Lyle Jeffries, who is entertaining a group of people for cocktails.  Bea recognizes one as Margaret Sorenson, the owner of designer dress shops.  Lyle Jeffries scoffs at the whole thing, and there is no evidence that a murder has taken place.  When Bea, Dan, and the police leave, it is revealed that Jeffries' guests are his partners in smuggling business.  He has staged the murder to make them all accomplices, assuring their silence.  The "supposed" murder victim, Marcus Hinton, a former reporter, threatened Lyle with exposing his smuggling operation unless he makes him his partner while cutting out the rest.  Some valuable diamonds are due in, disguised as rhinestones on Margaret Sorenson's French designer gowns.  Bea discovers this when she goes to Jeffries' house and is taken prisoner by his two henchmen.  Dan arrives in time to free her.  Jeffries and Hinton escape with some of the diamonds.  Dan quickly gets to an airplane, flies over their car and causes them to crash.  Lt. Nelson and his men arrive to take them into custody.

55.  BACKLASH                                              2/18/81                         PICTURE
 
Dan is hired by Katherine Wilson to investigate the strange behavior of her twenty year old daughter, Angie.  She goes out at night dressed like she's in high school.  Katherine  overheard a conversation of Angie talking to Beth Morrison about meeting older men in their motel rooms and being forced to do it.   Binzer finds that Angie and her two girlfriends, Beth Morrison and Allison White, both 20, are working for a limousine rental agency.  The agency is actually a cover business for Kurt Stryker and is co-owned by art dealer Anthony Belmont.  Kurt Stryker is later found to be a probation officer.  He selects the girls and coerces them into his extortion plan.  Stryker makes arrangements with a client to choose one of the girls and take her to his room for sex.  The girls have tape recorders in their purses and after making suggestive remarks which are recorded, Belmont's henchman Mike Kier bursts into the room.  The girl leaves and the client is then threatened with disclosure of the tape unless he pays for it.  Dan tries to convince Angie she is in bad company but she won't listen to him until her friend Allison is badly beaten by Kier for trying to leave the state.  Angie and Allison confide in Dan for help.  In the meantime, Binzer is kidnapped by Kier and held hostage at Belmont's art studio.  Dan is told in a phone call from Kier that Binzer will be exchanged for the two girls.  Binzer, however, is able to reveal his whereabouts to Dan over the phone.  Dan goes to Belmont's studio and subdues Kier.  Stryker enters the studio and dukes it out with Dan.  He throws a knife at Dan which goes into his upper arm.  While Dan pulls the knife out, Stryker lunges towards Dan and the knife gets shoved into Stryker's stomach thus  killing him.  A grateful Katherine Wilson is reunited with her daughter.

56.  HEIST                                                   2/25/81                         PICTURE
 
Because of a rash of casino robberies, Philip Roth hires Dan to rob one of his casinos to test his security.  Dan puts together his own "dirty dozen."  He hires Siegfried Klaus, one of the world's best engineering minds, Vinnie Rilato who is a demolition expert, Freddie "Fingers"; a safe cracker, and Jerry Lang, a wheel man.  For their efforts, Roth has promised them each $25,000.  Dan and the gang decide to rob the Desert Inn.  Jerry Lang's girlfriend, Madeline, convinces Jerry to steal the money for real.  Jerry will be driving an ambulance for the "getaway" vehicle.  Dan and the gang get into the Desert Inn posing as delivery men delivering props for a magic show.  The robbery goes off without a hitch until Monte Levine discovers the money room has been ripped off.  He alerts security and the police.  The money bags are thrown into the waiting ambulance when Jerry pulls a gun on Dan and tells him to drive.  Lt. Nelson and several police cars arrive on the scene.  An exciting police chase takes place through the strip and finally ends with the ambulance crashing on its side in downtown Vegas.  Jerry opens the back door of the ambulance and wearily crawls out to be immediately arrested.  Dan, in the meantime, has a hard time convincing Lt. Nelson he is indeed innocent.

57.  NO WAY TO TREAT A VICTIM                                3/4/81
 
Bea and a showgirl friend, Diane, meet for dinner after a show when an old friend, Lisa Clavell, arrives to say hello.  Bea and Diane ask Lisa to join them.  Lisa has been waiting a long time for her date, a man she had just met that afternoon, who has apparently stood her up.  As she leaves, her date Jimmy Ellis, appears in the parking lot apologizing for being late and asks her to please have a quick drink with him.  Bea observes all of this as she and her friend get into their car.  When Lisa and Jerry  get into his car, they are surprised by a masked man in the back seat.  Jerry is forced to blind fold Lisa.  When they arrive to their destination, Jerry puts up a fight with the masked man and is "shot."  As the masked man takes the blindfolded Lisa away, Gene, "Jimmy Ellis" gives him a thumbs-up.  Lisa is then brutally raped by both men.  Later at the desert Inn tennis courts, Jimmy asks beautiful tennis pro, Wendy Paige, to meet him for a drink.  Wendy meets Jimmy and is later found raped and murdered.  Dan, who has been brought into the case by Bea, ties both incidents to the same man.  Bea later discovers that Wendy had a bottle of shampoo in her purse from the same salon that Lisa frequented.  She leaves a message with Binzer about where she is going and to tell Dan what she discovered.  Larry, a hairdresser, has been assisting Gene by giving him information about clients so Gene can set up dates and both rape the girls in the salon.  Bea is about to become their next victim.  Dan arrives back home and is there for a while before Binzer remembers to tell Dan where Bea went.  Dan arrives at the salon just in time to save Bea and K.O. the rapists.

58.  TIME BOMB                                             3/11/81
 
Binzer runs into two people from his past, Vinnie Trancas and Art Cochran.  They greet him with, "You owe us" and he replies, "I don't have it."  They then demand $50,000 by midnight.  Binzer, trying to keep his past from Dan, frantically attempts to borrow the money.  First from Phillip Roth, then from a loan shark, Arnie Moss.  Both turn him down.  Binzer, in a panic, goes to his girlfriend, Margie Jenkins, who raises $1800.  Binzer takes the $1800 to the crap tables hoping to parlay the money, but loses instead.  In the meantime, Dan has been trying to find out who the two men are and what they want from Binzer.  Binzer confesses that Vinnie and Art robbed a bookie joint back East several years ago and he was their wheel man. They threw the money into Binzer's car and when the shooting started, Binzer got scared and took off.  Vinnie and Art were caught, but Binzer got away, and the two went to prison for three years.  Binzer drove across town to have a drink to settle down.  When he came out of the bar, the car was stolen.  Vinnie and Art had always vowed to find him thinking he had the money.  Vinnie and Art take Dan hostage in his pad.  They tell Binzer that he must get the money or Dan will be killed.  Binzer tells them that he need till noon the next day and they agree.  Out of desperation, Binzer goes to Bea's house and gets her gun.  Bea calls Lt. Nelson to tell him what happened.  Lt. Nelson puts out a all points bulletin on Binzer and Binzer is arrested at the Desert Inn parking lot.  He explains to Lt. Nelson what  happened.  Bea arrives at Dan's pad and is taken hostage as well.  Binzer, unaware that Vinnie and Art are holding Dan hostage in his pad, calls Bea to apologize and that he is at Lt. Nelson's office.  Art hears the conversation and whispers in bea's ear to tell him to come over.  Binzer arrives and finally tells them that he can't get the money.  Dan says that he can get the money from Roth on the condition that they let Bea and Binzer go.  Dan tells Roth that the situation Binzer's in is serious and he needs the cash with no police involvement.  Bea will pick-up the money.  Roth immediately contacts Lt. Nelson.  Bea picks-up the cash and walks out to the parking lot to the car.  Vinnie opens the door and Dan Kicks him as he is getting out.  Art gets out of the car and Binzer does the same.  Dan and Binzer take them down and Lt. Nelson arrives to clean up the mess.  Nelson advises Binzer that he is free since there were never any charges filed against him.

59.  OUT OF SIGHT                                            3/15/81
 
Dan has been hired by Phillip Landauer to investigate mobster John Varga.  After Dan gets home from a night on the town, Benton and Geddes bust in and take him hostage.  They take him out to the desert, and after a struggle, Dan is shot in the head and left to die.  Two dirt bikers spot Dan the next morning and alert authorities.  Luckily, the bullet grazed Dan's skull without inflicting serious damage, so Dan will recover.  However, he is temporarily blinded.  Dan is diagnosed by his doctor, Jeannie Lutness, that he is suffering from hysterical neurosis because of the terrible fear that he felt the night of the incident.  Phillip Landauer had set up Dan's shooting to appear that Varga was to blame.  Dan recalls that one of the thugs who had taken him to the desert had squeaky shoes.  When he is with Landauer and his thugs, he hears the same squeaky shoes and knows that the guilty one has to be Landauer and not Varga.  Dan and Binzer lay a trap for Landauer and his henchmen.  After they are subdued, Dan regains his sight.

60.  SET UP                                                  3/25/81
 
Lt. Dave Nelson and Dan are about to take to beautiful showgirls to dinner when Nelson is paged.  The voice on the phone, Alex Barr, tells Nelson that he is holding waitress Harriet Corners and to come to a certain address right away.  When Nelson arrives at the address he finds Alex Barr shot to death and Harriet Corners beaten to death.  Nelson is hit on the back of the head by Eddie Miller, who switches Nelson's gun with the one used to kill Barr.  He also disconnects the telephone and puts wax on the fuse of Nelson's car radio to make it inoperable.  When Nelson, comes to and finds the phone out or order, he goes to his car radio.  When he finds that's not working, he drives to the nearest telephone booth.  As he drives away, Eddie reconnects the telephone and calls the police to report the crime.  Nelson is picked up by the police who inform him they have been tipped off that he has killed two people.  He was overheard threatening Alex Barr over the phone.  The situation is made more difficult for Nelson when the phone is found to be working, as well as his car radio (the wax melted).  With Dan's help, Nelson finds that Eddie Miller has been hired by a lawyer, J. Terrance Wainwright, who makes pornographic films.  Nelson had been investigating the operation, so Wainwright decided to discredit Nelson with the police rather than killing him.  Dan finds that Nelson's car radio had been tampered with.  Eva Swenson, a costume designer, admits to Nelson that she had been blackmailed by Eddie Miller into recruiting young girls for the porno films.  Eddie Miller sees her talking with Nelson, beats her up, and has her tell the police that Nelson did it.  Dan visits her in the hospital and she tells him the name of the warehouse where the films are made.  Dan and Nelson go there and find Wainwright and Miller in the middle of making a film.  The police arrive and take them into custody and clear Nelson.

61.  THE KILLING                                             4/15/81
 
Phil and Ann Reese are in Las Vegas happily celebrating their first wedding anniversary at the restaurant where they had their wedding dinner.  Suddenly two me, Kenny Braden and his partner, Vance break in with guns drawn and tell everyone to put their valuables in a sack.  Braden and Vance then make everyone go into the back room where they start shooting everyone.  Among the dead are Phil Reese and Gilbert Arnold.  Braden and Vance are working for Raymond Green, a casino manager.  Green is being blackmailed by his comptroller, Gilbert Arnold.  Green has discovered that Arnold has a double set of books and Green wants the information found and destroyed.  Ann Reese hires Dan to find the murderers.  Dan figures that the whole thing was a cover-up and only Gilbert Arnold was the intended victim.  Dan learns of Arnold's association with Green.  Dan goes to Arnold's house and finds it ransacked.  He then is attacked by Kenny who burgled the house looking for the books.  Dan subdues him and Kenny is taken into custody and later bailed out.  Dan resumes the search of the house and finds a key taped to the bottom of a drawer.  Dan traces the key to Arnold's club locker.  He goes there and finds the books with all the information in a gym bag.  Binzer, posing as Arnold's partner, calls Green and pretends to blackmail him, telling him he has the information and will sell it.  Green falls for it enabling Dan and Binzer (actually Binzer's car) to trap Green, Braden, and Vance.  Dan buys Binzer an old time car to replace the one he wrecked.

62.  SEEK AND DESTROY                                        4/22/81
 
Mickhail Yanovitch, piloting a Soviet Jet, arrives in Las Vegas seeking asylum.  He is met by Col. Dixon Vance and Victoria Ballinger, a beautiful engineer who speaks Russian and acts as the interpreter.  Major Barney Adams is advised by double agent Lazlo Samonsky that the Russians have three counter agents known as operation Hobby to destroy the airplane before the Americans can have a look at it.  One of the counter agents is a local private investigator with a specialty in demolition.  Adams calls Dan to help him.  When Dan arrives he finds that Adams has been taken away by two men.  As Dan leaves, a car tries to run him down.  Adams is soon found dead.  Dan discovers that the private investigator is Jack Lucas and recognizes him as the one who tried to run him down.  Lucas puts a bomb under Dan's car but Dan finds it and throws into a trash can just before in blows.  The second member of Operation Hobby, Arnold Suchak, tries to bomb the airplane but is killed in a gun fight with Dan.  Dan soon finds that Victoria is the third member of the team when she tries to bomb the airplane as well as Mikhail.  Victoria and Lucas are taken into custody.

63.  DEAD RINGER                                             4/29/81
 
Backstage at the Aladdin Hotel, entertainer Wayne Newton accepts a flower box from a messenger.  An explosion occurs.  The shaken Newton opens an envelope to find a feather with a gold pin, a replica of the one he traditionally wears on his lapel, and a note saying -"leave the country or die"  - signed "Wayne Newton" - with Newton's handwriting exactly duplicated.  Wayne hires Dan to track down his assailant.  Elsewhere, is emotionally disturbed Benny Lang, a former member of a jazz group, who performs in a seedy club.  Lang, while alone, dresses as Newton and lip sinks to Newton records.  Lang makes several more attempts on Newton's life before he is trapped by Dan and Newton and falls to his death.  He thought that he was the really Wayne Newton and the real Newton was an impostor.

64.  FRENCH TWIST                                          5/6/81                        PICTURE
 
Nicholas Rambeau, a French private investigator who had been convicted of grand theft (see Episode #38 The Lido Girls) but is now out on parole has been hired to follow Monique Duvalier, a French woman, by her suspicious husband.  He follows her to Las Vegas where she goes to the apartment of Todd Peterson, a young man whom she once had an affair with.  Todd's car is parked outside his apartment.  Monique moves the car to the rear parking lot.  The car has been rigged with a bomb which goes off and she is blown up with the car.  Rambeau has observed all of this and had seen someone tinkering with Todd's car.  Rambeau is slightly injured in an attempt to get to Monique.  Rambeau calls Dan Tanna from the hospital to assist in the investigation.  Todd is traced to a woman's health club which is staffed by male hookers who give favors to the women above and beyond the regular exercise program.  Dan finds Alexander Waverly, a convicted racketeer, has been getting protection money from the health club employees.  Todd has refused to pay him so Waverly's employee, James Thorton, wire bombed Todd's car.  The head of the health club, Billy Grogan, has been an informant to Waverly.  Todd is beaten up by Thorton, who leaves him for dead.  Todd is taken to the hospital and he reveals the whole story.  Dan rescues Rambeau inside the health club where he subdues Thorton, and Waverly.

65.  NIGHTMARE COME TRUE                                   5/20/81
 
Dan is hired by Tom Cornell and his wife, Louise, whose daughter Kristie has been kidnapped.  They have been told by Larson and Sears, the kidnappers, to pay $2 million in diamonds for her safe return by ten o' clock that evening.  The Cornell's have also hired a psychic, Cynthia Jennings, to work with Dan.  When Cynthia meets Dan for the first time, she has visions of him falling to his death.  Dan is leery of psychics and resents her at first.  However, through Cynthia's clues, Dan finds that Kristie is being held in a condemned motel.  Then she is moved to an abandoned warehouse.  The kidnappers, Larson and Sears, have a falling out.  Larson runs down Sears with a van, escaping with Kristie.  Larson calls Cornell to tell him where to make the drop.  Cornell urges Dan and Cynthia not to follow him.  They reluctantly oblige him.  Later, Cynthia tells Dan that the drop will take place on the roof of the Frontier Hotel.  She tells Dan of her dream of him falling to his death.  He takes in in stride.  Dan takes down Larson on the roof, however, Michael Pierce, Louise Cornell's brother is also there.  It turns out that Michael Pierce had arranged the kidnapping in order to get back at his brother-in-law whom he resented.  Dan and Pierce struggle.  Pierce manages to get Dan dangling from the roof top.  Pierce struggles to get Dan to fall, but in the process, falls off the roof himself.  Lt. Nelson and his squad, along with Cynthia Jennings, arrive on the roof just as Dan loses his grip and falls.  Dan only falls a few feet to a balcony below and is knocked unconscious.  Pierce, however, wasn't so lucky.

66.  JUDGMENT PRONOUNCED                                  5/27/81
 
Warner Ramsey, wearing judicial robes in a room with inflated balloons that are representing a jury and defendant who, in this case is syndicate crime chief Charles Trask.  Ramsey say - "Charles Trask, you are to be put to death in the manner most befitting your crimes."  Charles Trask, who has just been acquitted of first degree murder, leaves the courthouse with his famous defense attorney, T. Earl Townsend.  A red 1957 Thunderbird, a duplicate of Dan's pulls up.  The driver, a man who looks like Dan, pulls a gun and kills Trask.  The driver red Thunderbird throws out an envelope and says "judgment pronounced!"  Lt. Nelson shows Dan the drawing that was in the envelope.  The drawing show Charles Trask with a noose around his neck and two more empty nooses.  Dan next receives a drawing of Juan "Tico" Lupino with a noose around his neck.  Lupino is the head of a border syndicate called Cocaine International and is about to be married.  Dan rushes to the Desert Inn's Wimbledon Towers where the wedding is taking place to warn him but is prevented from doing so by one of Tico's henchman.  Tico is then shot by Dan's look-alike who again yells "judgment pronounced!"  He escapes again.  Lt. Nelson and Dan find that "Judge" Warner Ramsey, a former prosecutor with grudges against Trask, Tico, and Dan, had purchased a T-Bird and had it painted to look like Dan's.  Dan next receives a drawing with T. Earl Townsend in the third noose.  Dan gets to Townsend and they both trick the deranged Ramsey, a psychopath in search for justice, into thinking Dan is dead.  A chase ensues and Ramsey is taken into custody screaming "I know the law!, I know the law!!"
